Objectives of the charity.
1).
The charity shall be called ‘The Wistaston Cat Refuge’.
2).
The objectives of the charity shall be:

a)
Whenever possible, and providing suitable accommodation is available, to give
shelter to unwanted, stray, sick or injured cats/kittens.
·
b)
To provide veterinary treatment for sick and injured cats/kittens.
·
c)
To find suitable homes for any rescued cats/kittens in care with the refuge.
·
d)
when possible, and if no accommodation is available at the refuge, to attempt
to find homes for unwanted cats/kittens at the request of cat’/kitten’s owners
without first bringing the cat/kitten into the refuge.
·
e)
To raise the standard of care, by owners, for cats/kittens by means of a policy
of education and advice to members of the public.
·
f)
To ensure that any cat/kitten in care at the refuge is neutered.
·
g)
When ever possible, subject to the availability of funds, to ensure that any
cat/kitten in care at the refuge is micro-chipped before leaving the refuge for
the purpose of being re-homed.
·
h)
Whenever possible, subject to the availability of funds, to assist in the cost
of neutering cats/kittens when their owners are on low income.
3). If a cat/kitten is found to be unsuitable for re-homing due to temperament, behaviour or for health reasons, the cat/kitten will remain with the refuge for the duration of it’s natural life.
4)
Euthanazia will only be considered if all of the following criteria are met:

i)
The cat/kitten is terminally ill.
·
ii)
The cat/kitten is in constant pain that cannot be relieved by veterinary
treatment.
·
iii)
The cat’s/kitten’s life is of such poor quality as to be intolerable.
·
iiii)
The veterinary surgeon serving the refuge considers that euthanasia is the only
humane course of action.
